Experience summer in Sweden by boarding a late afternoon ferry to Grinda for dinner.
Before sitting down in the restaurant to a freshly caught salmon, take a walk along the coast, and daydream about sleeping in one of those typical little red houses. These old one-room fisherman and farmer's huts have become getaway cottages for Stockholmers. Many are in their original state and have become inspirations for seaside decor. If you have more time, go for the day, and head for Finnhamnor Sandhamn. Stroll along the coast, dive off a cliff into the 20°C sea in August, dry yourself off and pick some blueberries.Have an afternoon nap in bright sunshine. But beware of sunburn, even in Sweden! Push on until Vaxholm. Vaxholm is a city spread out over 64 islands of which 16 are inhabited. Ideal for coastal shipping! And if, in the evening, you miss the ferry, go back by bus. In Stockholm, ferries dock at Nybrokagen and Stromkagen.
Tickets are sold at the pier, but in the summer, it is better to book your passage in advance and arrive a little early.
